Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY)
Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is an evidence-based and body orientated intervention for Trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, or other trauma-related conditions.
It is available for individuals and groups who must be in therapy and/or have not been hospitalised for psychiatric care in the last six months.
As a TCTSY Facilitator (TCTSY-F), I am trained, supervised, and held accountable to the ethical code and quality of practice that is defined by the Centre for Trauma and Embodiment.
I have worked in the NHS, HMP Humber, and secure Mental Health Units.
What is Trauma and how can Trauma-Sensitive Yoga help?
Trauma is defined as a distressing or set of distressing experiences that threaten our sense of real or perceived safety to the extent that it surpasses our ability to feel at home in our own bodies because of overwhelming reactions or sensations.
As Trauma resides in the body, adapted Trauma-Sensitive Yoga is an approach to help us feel more at home with our sense of physical self.
